WordPress 3.8.1 was released on January 23rd, 2014. According to Andrew Nacin’s blog post about the update…
Version 3.8.1 is a maintenance releases that addresses 31 bugs in 3.8, including various fixes and improvements for the new dashboard design and new themes admin screen.
When the update is complete, your screen will look like this:
If you don’t like the black sidebar, you can change that to a variety of different colors right from the “Welcome to WordPress 3.8.1” screen.
If you decide to change the color later, simply go to Users > Your Profile and Admin Color Scheme to choose from:
- Default (black)
I find the different colors useful to differentiate between blogs when I’m working within the Admin Panel of more than one at the same time.
For example, I’m quite liking ‘Sunrise’ for the Academy’s Admin section. 🙂
So, which scheme do you like?
NOTE: If your blog is hosted on BlueHost, you should have received a notice by now that this upgrade was done automatically.
